Mount Kenya University (MKU) has condoled Anthony Mwangi Ndungu, the institution’s Director in charge of Institutional Planning and Administration for losing his mother after a long illness.
The private university Board of Directors, University Council, University Management Board, staff and the entire student body condoled with Mwangi’s family for losing Salome Waigwe Ndungu on May 2, 2021.
The varsity termed Waigwe as a pillar of peace and development in the family, church and in the community.
Addressing mourners during the final sendoff of Waigwe at Kenol, MKU’s Pro. Chancellor, Dr. Vincent Gaitho who represented the institution noted that the deceased’s services to the society and church will forever remain unforgettable and memorable.
“To the family of the late Salome Waigwa, it is our prayer that God grants you strength at this time and that He gives you comfort and peace. Please do realize that even in the darkest days there is an angel by your side to guide you along the way,” Prof. Dr. Simon N. Gicharu, the institution’s founder and chairman said in a statement read by Dr. Gaitho.
Waigwe was daughter to the late Mr & Mrs Eliud Maina Buba of Koimbe Village, Murang’a. a loving wife to Sammy Ndungu, a beloved mother to Anthony Mwangi (MKU) and Esther Mwangi, Beth & Vincent (France), Nancy Ndungu (NACADA).
