Mundurume Kieya hit maker, Joy wa Macharia has closed dating doors after tying the knots with the lover of her life, a man she described as “KIEYA”.
Speaking exclusively to latestnewskenya.com , the cheeky Mugithi singer who also happens to be a radio queen at KBC’s Coro FM, confirmed that she got married to the man of her dreams.
“Yes, he is the one! I’m very happy to be married to him, the feeling is so good,” She told Latest News.
Kieya is a Kikuyu word for Plot, yes, a piece of land. In recent years, a series of advertisements have been running in all Kikuyu media stations advertising land buying/selling companies including real estates across the nation and it appears men are rated on the list of properties under their names, today.
Joy Macharia left the tongue’s wagging back in 2018, when she released her first single titled Mundurume Kieya, a song that described how a modern man should look like.
“It’s not all about gym, building your bodies,” read part of the lyrics.
The one lady guitar has been enjoying massive support from her followers and she has since released other hit songs including Waitherero kia Murang’a, Cuma Hiu, Guborwo, Ihiko cia Thiku Ici, Nindaguthiururire and her latest track Niukandambura that was releaded on June 22nd 2020.
Her style stands out from other Kikuyu Benga female singers as she uses one-guitar style, a style that was well mastered by the late Salim Junior and the one-lady-guitars appears to have learnt a lot from the departed mugithi legend.
Joy wa Macharia, a mother and a wife is a journalist by profession, having graduated from the prestigious Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) as a broadcast journalist.
