Joyce wa Mamaa, a sassy kikuyu benga musician has taken the industry by storm since joining the high rated industry 11 years ago.
The mother of an eight-year-old boy has released a couple of hit songs including: Wendo wi Cama, No nguige gwakwa, Wendo waku ndituragia, No ngerihiria and Kamau Mubatari among others and she has been enjoying a growing fan base for a decade now.
Last night, Wa Mamaa caused a stir in the social media world keeping Netizens busy over a post she uploaded on her Facebook page.
The soft-spoken benga queen posted a photo of herself romantically holding a man she described as, “The man who loved me, Joyce Wa Mamaa Wedding loading.”
This was the caption: “Aki hawa ladies husema all men are … My question is who told them to taste all??? Msituharibie future na vitishoNjamba niyo ino iria yanyendire… ##JoyceWamamaWeddingLoading### ##GoodNytFam### #judymainamusic##”
The post attracted thousands of reactions from her followers with most congratulating her ahead of her “planned wedding” but few intellects were quick to predict of a possible “Love Song” underway and about to be released by the much loved musician.
Before the COVID-19 Pandemic hit our country in March 2020, the little magician was pulling masses in her show alongside the King of Mugithi Smidoh but the two have been entertaining their followers on their respective social media channels.
Wa Mamaa, a household name, is known for passionately composing songs targeting irresponsible men who leave girls and women bleeding in their hearts after break ups.
Her son was sired by Gukena FM sports presenter Munyeki the Sonko, but Wa Mamaa has in the past denied releasing popular songs bashing men and especially targeting her baby daddy.
The two met when Munyeki was a radio presenter at KBC’s Coro FM and Joyce was starting off her music career.
Joyce wa Mamaa was born in Kongoini village in Kiharu, Murang’a County and she was introduced to music by renowned benga musician Wangari wa Kabera in 2009.
