The Jubilee government has been lauded for opening up various parts around the country through provision o sustainable road and other transport infrastructure.
Urithi Housing Cooperative Society Limited Sales Manager Gabriel Ng’ang’a said since the government embarked on the construction of roads, many parts of the country that have been lagging behind and those that were dormant due to lack of roads have now open up and are witnessing economical activities.
Ng’ang’a said the opening up of these areas has made buying companies and Coop societies to settle Kenyans land and houses as access to the product is easily available.
“The opening up of these areas has greatly made our work easy.”I wish to sincerely thank the national government for undertaking to tarmac the roads linking Naru Moro in Nanyuki to Makutani Junction to join the Nyeri – Nyahururu highway,” said Ng’ang’a.
The Manager who was accompanied by Urithi Housing Cooperative Society Limited, CEO Kevin Muthuri had conducted members to a tour of their 84 acre Miliki Central land situated between the boundary of Laikipia Counties.
The land which is suitable for farming, cattle rearing and settlement has been subdivided into an 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and acre. They are being sold at Kshs. 95,000, 1500,000, 295,000 and 560,000 respectively for the plots. Those who cannot raise the lump some money can pay a deposit of Kshs. 60,000, 100,000, 200,000 and 300,000 and pay the balance in installments of 3 months.
Alternatively, a member will be only required to cough a third of the cost and get boost from Urithi Premier Sacco a loan to clear the other 2/3. The interest rate is 12% on reducing balance which is spread in 24 months. He said when one will be comfortably be repaying his/her loan, the value of the land will be skyrocketing. Ng’ang’a said half of the land has been sold out. Electricity is already on ground.
He said after the construction of the free tarmac, the value of land in the area will really appreciate. “Now when we tell our members they can grow onion here, they know we mean every word because their produce will reach the market in real time,” said the Society Boss.
He said the concept of Miliki Central is to ensure that every Urithi member get a suitable and affordable land. Members were latter hosted for a luncheon at a local posh hotel, Luxur Paradise by Urithi. Representatives of Kenyans in the diaspora who have purchased or willing to buy were represented.
