Young people have been encouraged to play golf for networking purposes and also for their health.
Jared Ombui a senior communications officer at KBC said that many young people associate golf with the rich and old people which is a wrong assunption.
“We want to encourage the youth venture into golf where they can meet mentors and good advisors as well as execaing their bodies,” he said.
Speaking at the Thika sporta club today where Coro Fm has this weekend sponsored a golf tournament Ombui said that the thier aim is to popularize the station in the region.
Ombui said that this is the second tournament they are sponsoring in two months as last month they were at the Ruiru sports club.
Ombui said that the intention of the tournament is to introduce Coro Fm to their listeners and work on partnering with them beyond golf.
He said that Coro Fm and KBC at large is out there in a big way to sponsor golf and other sports.
According to Ombui KBC has a big team of golf players participating in the tournament.
He at the same time urged Kenyans to listen to Coro Fm and other KBC stations for informative and educative programs.
He added that they have been in other regions and in March they were in Mombasa with Pwani Fm sponsoring another golf tournament.
