Suspected goons on Saturday set ablaze offices belonging to Maseno University devastating department of public health offices.
The headquarters in Kisumu-Busia highway were rendered to ashes with fire brigades hopelessly fighting out the spreading inferno.
Julius Nyabudi, the university vice chancellor said the fire started at 3am and its cause has not yet been recognized.
‘The building offices belong to the department of public health. Routine office equipment such as computers were burnt,’ the vice chancellor reported.
‘We have asked police to investigate the cause of the fire,’ he further said.
Maseno University has been in the news before for the off beam reasons. In October 2013, students griped supposed high levels of insecurity in the region.
They later set part of the university offices on blaze which expended the Finance and Dean of Students offices.
