Despite endless renunciations that Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi is not interested in Raila’s CORD coalition, it has now been revealed that he is joining the opposition soon.
Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale said CORD is in talks with the once vice president to join it ahead of 2017 elections.
According to Citizen Digital, CORD has been fishing to have Mudavadi on its side in an effort to merge Western Kenya votes ahead of the August 2017 polls.
Khalwale further revealed that CORD will resuscitate the Prime Minister position if it clinches the presidency.
The position will be conserved for the presidential candidate who will appear third in CORD’s joint nominations.
The four candidates for the CORD presidential primaries are Raila, Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetang’ula.
The coalition has decided to hold joint nominations which will see them select one of them to be the presidential candidate while the number two candidate will be the winner’s running mate.
