AFC Leopards has finally fired Belgian originating coach Ivan Minnaert with immediate effect.
The club instead appointed his assistants Nicholas Muyoti ans Ezekiel Akwana to lead the team through until the end of the season.
The withdrawal was blamed on deprived performance of the club in the premier league.
‘As the management … we gave you a chance to be heard on matters regarding continued detrimental results, serious and tenacious misconduct by yourself,’ secretary general Oscar Igaida and chairman Dan Mule said in the sacking letter served to the coach on Thursday morning.
The two said that the club’s fans and members have upraised concern about the present status of the team.
The coach was asked to collect his payments on September 5, as well as hand over any club items in his control.
The chairman said the decision was arrived after several warnings to the club’s official.
‘We refer to preceding warnings and the proceedings of the hearing of the warning of show-cause on August 3, 2016 at the secretariat.
The German originating coach was employed in February 2016 for a two-year contract substituting Jan Koops who was handed a new role inside the club’s technical bench.
The team has posted inconsistent results mostly after transfer drama are see seen to have cost the coach his job.
