Faith Kipyegon Shocks The World To Win Gold For Kenya

Faith Kipyegon stunning performance shocked the world when she defeated world record and champion Genzebe Dibaba from Ethiopia in the 1,500m women’s final at the ongoing Olympics in Brazil.

The Kenyan racer completed the race 2 meters ahead of Dibaba clocking a personal best time of 4”09.92.

Dibaba completed the race second in 4:10.27 while Jenny Simpson of the U.S. won the first-ever medal for Team USA in the 1,500 meters by finishing third in a personal best time of 4:10.53.

Kenya now rises by two positions having 3 gold medals and three silver medals. It is ranked number one in Africa and number 16 globally.
