98 students from Nyang’ori boy’s high school have reportedly contracted Cholera over shortage of water at the school.
It is reported that 98 students have been put in segregation as five of them are admitted at Tigoi Dispensary Studies in the school have been paralyzed following the outbreak.
Guido Ahundukha, the county health director stated that ‘We are treating the case special as the incident involved a lot of students. We have in fact turned one of the classrooms as a treatment lab to help us handle the matter quickly,’ he said.
He unveiled that clinical officers and a nurse had been positioned at the school to offer health care to the students.
In early March this year, 35 cases of reported Cholera outbreak happened within a week in Mandera with the county public health officials castigating laxity among some medical practitioners.
